Lillian Brooks

Lillian Brooks has received numerous accolades and prizes including, most recently, the 2015 Hnatyshyn Foundation Developing Artists Grant.   Lillian enjoyed the privilege of singing the role of Cornelia during the summer of 2014 in the Accademia Europea  Dell’Opera production of Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto in Lucca, Italy.   Throughout her years of vocal music studies at York University, where she studied with renowned Canadian mezzo-soprano, Dr. Catherine Robbin, Lillian sang as a member and selected soloist with the York University Chamber and Concert Choirs. She completed her under-graduate degree in Classical Vocal Performance in June 2015, and began the summer season with the York University Chamber Choir’s European tour.   Lillian made her professional debut in February 2015 as a soloist with Chorus Niagara under the baton of conductor Robert Cooper, performing Mozart’s Requiem.   Lillian is now continuing her education in music at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto, studying with soprano Stephanie Bogle and pianist Rachel Andrist.
