Jane Fingler

Jane Fingler

Jane Fingler is a soprano from Winnipeg who will be starting a Masters in Historical Performance at the University of Toronto in Fall 2019. Since graduating with a BA in voice from the University of Manitoba in 2014, Jane has been singing non-stop, whether it’s music old or new, choral or solo, pop or folk music. Her love of choir is apparent, as demonstrated by her involvement over the past 8 years in Winnipeg based choral groups Camerata Nova, Canzona Baroque Choir and Polycoro Chamber Choir, where she has often been featured as a soloist in addition to being an ensemble member. Recent solo career highlights include performing the soprano solos in Händel’s Messiah with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (2018), performing Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson’s Seven Friends, a piece for orchestra and soprano solo in the Winnipeg New Music Festival (2018) and as a soloist Canzona’s performance of Händel’s Israel in Egypt with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra (2019). Jane is excited to call Toronto home and soak up the wonderful music scene here!
