Alexander Bowie

Alexander Bowie is an aspiring baritone currently in his fourth year at the University of Toronto, studying under the instruction of Canadian soprano Lorna MacDonald. He is pursuing his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and was awarded the University’s prestigious President’s Scholarship upon admittance. Originally from the town of Oakville, Ontario, music has always had meaning in Alexander’s life. He has participated in several local and provincial musical festivals, consistently garnering scholarships and awards. Most recently, Alexander performed the role of Chief Supreme Court Justice in Of thee I sing (2018 – University of Toronto Opera Department) and the role of Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte (2018 – Long Reach Opera Workshop). He is looking forward to performing in the University of Toronto Opera Department’s November production of Kurt Weill’s Street Scene in the role of Dick McGann. He is honoured to return for another exciting season as a Sidgwick Scholar with the Orpheus Choir of Toronto.
