Orpheus Cinema: The Hunchback of Notre Dame Friday October 30, 2009 7:30 p.m. Eglinton St George’s United Church, 35 Lytton Blvd. The French silent movie classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame, with ‘choral soundtrack’ by the Orpheus Choir and organist extraordinaire Edward Moroney, makes for a moving, rousing and unique choral night out. Join Robert Cooper and his guest, John Kruspe, member of the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto, and lecturer in Cinema Studies, Innis College, at 6:45 p.m. for our pre-concert chat. Robert Cooper and John Kruspe will discuss the film, the choral works selected and the film’s historical significance. This chat will appeal to film students and lovers young and old of silent films.
Big Band Christmas
Tuesday December 22, 2009 7:30 p.m. Metropolitan United Church, 56 Queen St. E. Christmas with ‘groove’… swing into the holidays with Swedish composer Nils Lindberg’s Count Basie-esque Christmas Cantata, complete with jazz band. A different take on the sounds of the season and an Orpheus premiere. Bring your friends and family to our annual Yuletide concert!

Join the celebrations for the 20th Anniversary event of The Sidgwick Scholars Programme ... our 2009-2010 scholars will be featured in this concert.
