The Orpheus Choir of Toronto is pleased to invite you to Handel’s rarely performed oratorio masterpiece Joshua.
Divine, holy and heavenly events from the Old Testament provide the dramatic climaxes in Handel’s work as the walls of Jericho collapse, a great city is ravaged by fire, and the power of Joshua stops the sun and moon in their tracks. Triumphant choruses, exquisite solo arias and lavish orchestral settings make Joshua one of Handel’s most magnificent oratorios.
The Orpheus Choir of Toronto’s Sidgwick Scholars take on the solo roles for this engaging work: Meghan Fleet, soprano, Wallis Giunta, mezzo-soprano, Cian Horrobin, and Michael Ciufo, tenors, and Vasil Garvanliev and David Roth, basses.
The Talisker Players Edward Moroney, continuo Robert Cooper, conductor
