Sidgwick Scholars

Created in 1988 to honour the memory of the choir’s founders, John and Mary Sidgwick, the program supports emerging vocal artists and their participation within the Orpheus Choir.

This mutually beneficial relationship provides Scholars with the opportunity to learn about the rigours and discipline of ensemble singing while honing their performance experience and profile as soloists in the Toronto music scene.

Since its inception, more than 40 talented young singers have performed with Orpheus,  many of whom moving on to illustrious careers on the concert stage and in the opera house, both in Canada and internationally.
